On Thursday 27th February a strong solar storm, combined with a weak Earth magnetic field allowed a fantastic display of the Northern Lights. The Aurora could be seen from the south of England.
These pictures are taken overlooking Perth and despite the strong street lights, a band of green can clearly be seen. Unfortunately, it took some time before the cloud cleared, and a lot of the reds and pinks were not visible / too weak to be seen over the street light pollution.

The first test shot for settings and location picked up a good amount of green, and off to the left, some red.
It took about an hour before the cloud fully cleared to allow this view.
